Kathmandu countryside route encompasses Dhulikhel hill town, Sunkoshi river, Temal ridge ,Roshi river valley and natural beautiful hill villages.

Kathmandu countryside route is short and easily accessible, very famous for scenic nature, hill ethnic culture and moreover, very popular for viewing the majestic Himalayan panorama from Annapurna in the West to the Mt. Everest in the East.  In between there are more than 25 major and beautiful Himalayan  mountains including  Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Phurbigyachu, Gangchhenpo, Gaurishanker, Lhotse etc. Temal hill ridge (2000 m) lies between Sunkoshi and Rosi rivers and  ideal for village home stay for western tourists. The fascinating scenic views of the Himalayan range to the North East and Mahabharat hill range to the South West in addition to rivers, terraced farms and typical Nepalese hill villages are really heart breaking.

Day 01.       Transfer to Bhotekoshi river beach camp, about 3 hours drive on Araniko highway.             

Dinner amidst camp fire  &  B – B – Q. 

Day 02.       RAFTING:

-        Rafting on Bhotekoshi river past Dolalghat, the river confluence where Bhotekoshi and Indravati rivers meet forming Sunkoshi river, further down stream past Sera and Timal Bensi villages stopping at Lambagar (660m), a wide open river beach for lunch break. It will be about 2.5 hours pleasant rafting on both sallow and small  white water rapids. The river valley is beautiful with scenes of jungle, villages, rice fields and hill side terraced farms. 

-        Change your wet clothes before lunch at Lambagar  river bank.


-        Trek up hill through Tamang villages of Mefrangar (Danda Gaun), Bhainse and higher Kot Temal (1750m.) ridge then to the tented camp site at Dui Pokhari. It’s about 3.5  hours up hill walking.

Day 03.       Breakfast at the camp site;

-        Start trekking along the historical Kot Temal ridge, the capital of old Tamang kingdom and to Yangbel village (1950m.)

-        Trek further past the holy meditation cave of Guru Rinpoche (Buddhsit great master, padmashambhav) to lunch break at Naryanthan jungle ground, a scenic pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. There are Hindu Narayan temple and Buddhist monastery near by. 

-        Timal ridge is famous for 360 view for green great hills of Mahabharat to right across Roshi river and Sailung to left across Sunkoshi river, beautiful villages on hill sides and river valleys.  Of course, majestic Himalayan panorama stretching from Mt. Manaslu (8163m) to the Mt. Everest (8848m) including;  Langtang Lirung (7246)m, Ganesh Himal VII to  II (7120)m,  Manaslu (8156m), Himal Chuli (7893m), Lamjung Himal (6986m), Phuribichyachu (6637 m), Gangchhenpo (6370m.), Dorjelhakpa (6966m),  Gaurishanker (7134 m), Numbur (6945m), Melungtse (7181m), Lhotse (8516 m) and many other minor peaks.

-        Trek down hill through Bromo and Kaltar villages, habitats of majority Tamang hill tribe people, few Brahman and Chhetri communities to Mangaltar (780m.) Roshi khola valley reaching the new highway Dhulikhel - Sindhuli – Bardivas.

-        Transfer to Dhulikhel hill town by road, tea/coffee/snack break and continue to your destination.

-        Its about 5 hours walk altogether and about 65 km drive on BP highway back to Kathmandu.
