Day 01: Kathmandu – Paro – Thimphu:Flight to Paro and direct transfer to Thimphu. Overnight in Thimphu
Thimphu (2,300m): was a wooded farming valley until 1961, when it became Bhutan's official national capital. The massive Tashicho Dzong, about 700 years old, was carefully revamped in the 1960s by the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk to house the royal and main government offices. Even today, it still only has a few streets and no traffic lights with estimated population of 105,000 people.
Day 02: Thimphu Sightseeing:
Full day Thimphu sightseeing will include; Memorial Chorten, Zilukha Nunnery, Indigenous hospital, Textile Museum, Takin Sanctuary, School of Arts & Crafts, Paper factory, Colorful Weekend Market and Trashichho Dzong. (For sites that remain closed on weekends, your guide will rearrange itinerary accordingly so that you do not miss anything). Over night stay in Thimphu.
Day 03: Thimphu – Paro:
Drive to Paro. In Paro visit Rinpung Dzong, Kyichu Lhakhang and National Museum. Over night stay in Paro.
Day 04: Paro – Hike Famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery:
After breakfast, you will hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang). Upon return to Paro, visit a typical Bhutanese Farm House. Overnight stay in Paro
Day 05: Paro – Kathmandu or Delhi by flight:
After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight back towards onward destinations.
